Temporary Goodbye for Me in Dubai!

It’s Saturday now and this will be the last day I’ll be staying in Dubai, tomorrow I’m flying back to Manila.
I started the day with a prayer thanking our creator for his blessings, had a cup of coffee and then went on client call.
I first visited Ms. Orial of Saba Int’l Trading, had some final talks then had some picture takings with her and her team. After here I went to Mr. Joel Buena of Philippine Supermarket, had final talks regarding my company and products, again I had picture taking with him and his team for remembrance, hehehe.
After here I went to an internet café to check email for a while and also to print pricelists to be presented to Mr. Herrera of Spinney’s. Then met Mr. Herrera for presentation of pricelists and gave him some sales kits of the different brands I showed him before. Then went on some picture taking with him on their reception.
After here, I went outside, and as I looked at the streets and the tall buildings of Dubai I finally told myself, it’s a SUCCESS! After 15 days of pressure and adventure I can tell to myself that I conquered Dubai! I know it’s still very early to say this, but for me the door to Dubai and the Middle East is finally open and this is a very good opportunity for my company!
I am now officially closing this blog, but this doesn’t mean it’s the end; it will be a brand new start for me. Another adventure and another country to explore!
Thank you guys for staying with me on my Dubai, wait till you see my next adventure!

The Lord Is Always Good!

This day is another lucky day for me, woke up early so I can prepare all the things I needed for my meeting with Ms. Vangie Orial.I have been followed up by my manager in Manila if i have paid her a visit since she gave this lead to me, so am really pushing for the sked. Our meeting was postponed yesterday so I said, this time it should be good. I don’t know but my feeling is different.
Took a cab going to her office, when I saw the office building i told the taxi driver that is the building I’m telling him, but sadly, this rude driver stopped at the opposite side of the road near an overpass, then said, “you can go down here, just use the overpass to cross the road” I was so disappointed, I can’t do anything, I’m alone here. I just scratched my head and went out of the taxi. It’s quite hot that time and I have to use the overpass with my long sleeves, tie and suit, adding to that are the samples and my back pack. I just told myself while walking. May kapalit siguro to.
Then I reached the said building, I went to the room no. which Ms. Orial gave me but when I asked the reception the person said its not the office I’m looking for, so I called Ms. Orial on her mobile phone, let her talked to the man, after they talked the man told me, I’m in the right room number but I’m not on the right building, he said the correct room is on the other side of the building. I was embarrassed that time. Hehehe..
Then I reached the correct room. Ms. Orial hasn’t arrive yet, I waited for about 15 minutes. When she arrived, I introduced myself and my company, then we went to their Chairman’s office, introduced me to their Chairman, and presented the products.
Of all the products that I presented to him, Cycles is the one he is very much interested, I heard him whisper to Ms. Orial, “is 1 container good already?” when I heard that, my heart pumped like I’m in a basketball game, I was feeling so excited that moment. then I asked what about the Beach Hut, he smelled all the samples and said he is only interested on the Hair & Scalp variant, then I did my “Diskarte” I asked him how hot is it here during siummer? He answered, very hot, then I picked up the 75 Max variant, I said “Sir, if you say very hot, I can suggest this variant, because it has the highest SPF that can really protect you from harmful elements of the sun, specially during those very hot time” then he grabbed the bottle and set it aside, then I picked up the One Touch bottle, like a salesman again, I did a demonstration on how the One Touch works, I sprayed it on my hand and arms, as well as his hand, I said this is very easy, no need to spread on your skin, just press the button and its done, again he grabbed the bottle and put it beside the Hair & Scalp and Max..
Then I reached for the cup of water, he was looking at me while I’m opening 1 sachet of Urgencee, after its dissolved, I told him to taste it, then he said this taste good, only little taste of medicine, but overall it taste like juice, then he whispered to Ms. Orial which of course I heard again, hehe. He said I want that too. So it’s Beach Hut, Urgencee and Cycles already, then I reached for another cup of water, I opened 1 sachet of C4 energy drink, he looks surprised when he saw the powder dissolved fast with changing colors, hehe. Then I told him to taste it, he said he liked the taste but the only concern is the packaging, very military he said. He and Ms. Orial said they will still think if they will order that also. I just said I will leave you some samples so you can try it again.
Then after that, Ms. Orial asked me for a quotation for a 20 foot container, on how many Cycles boxes will fit in it. I felt like my eyes were twinkling that time. I said I will have my office do the computations the soonest possible time.
Then I left their office with a very light feeling, it was like I’m in cloud 9! I can’t wait to tell it to my Manager through email, I called her as soon as I get out of the building and I was so happy to relay the good news! I even called our Prseident even if my manager told me not to. I was really so excited that time!
This was a very good day for me, coz it’s already Wednesday and I still closed a deal. I have Dr. Baker in Abu Dhabi for pharmacy shops, Abu Nader Group of Companies for Philippine Supermarkets, Spinney’s for their 22 supermarkets all over UAE, Malik Burger in Jumeirah Beashes and Saba Int’l Trading Co. for over 100 supermarkets covering all the 7 Emirates of UAE plus other supermarkets in Bahrain, Qatar & Kuwait!
What else can I ask for but thank you for the Holy Spirit and our Lord for the guidance and these blessings! You know while I’m doing this blog, I broke down to tears. I can’t help it, I can’t imagine how I did all these things in 2 weeks; I can’t imagine how good God is to me. I’m not being emotional but it’s true, I know I’m not a perfect person, I know I’ve been bad also but still God continuously showers me with blessings. I remember the time that my friend Rose, Tim and I went to St. Francis of Assisi church last week, I knelt down and prayed for the success and asked for blessing on this journey, now I can tell that my prayer was heard. I’m telling you people, prayer really works, wherever you are in this part of the earth, God will hear you, just don’t forget to call him, and don’t forget Him to get your attention, you should be the one to get HIS attention.

Spinney's, Here we come!

Today my meeting with Ms. Vangie was postponed and I was planning to visit her after I go to Dubai Municipality.
When I learned the news I started thinking, I need to have an additional appointment, so I tried to call Spinney’s Supermarket, looked for Mr, Hue, the Purchasing Manager. The operator said he is on vacation, I said what the hell!! His secretary said last week that he will be back either Sunday or Monday. I didn’t stop here, I contacted my high school friend who works in Spinney’s and asked her if she knows anyone in Mr. Hue’s department that I can talk to, then she referred me to Mr. Cielito, I called him, introduced myself and my company and asked for an appointment, he said if we can meet tomorrow, I asked him if he is free in the afternoon, he said ok, meet me at 3pm. When I put down the phone I said, yes! This is the moment I’m waiting, because Spinney’s is a famous supermarket in Dubai, as well as in other Emirates of UAE, it’s like Rustans of Manila, and it caters to class A & B market.
Then I met Mr. Cielito, presented him the products I have and after that he said he will call Mr. BG, the Category Manager, he is the one handling the products and deciding on what to purchase. I presented again to him. Asked about the price, he was a little confuse on our pricelist, it’s high he said, but I said it’s not yet the final price, its only a sample pricelist.
He then told me that he is interested on Beach Hut, Urgencee, Ambush and Cycles. But Mr. Cielito said he is also considering Bliss. I was feeling excited already because of their positive reactions. Mr BG also gave me the contact numbers of their consolidator in Manila to whom they order their Filipino products.
His last parting words were “If we will agree with the pricing, we have business, but if we don’t, we are just wasting each others time” I said with confidence, no problem sir, I will get back to you as soon as I get confirmation from my office in Manila.
After the meeting, I went to the cashier to buy some cell phone credit so I can tell Dennis and Mara about the good news! I was really in cloud 9 during that time I can’t just imagine how happy Dennis, Emily and Mara as well as my officemates in Manila if they hear this good news!

This day I went The Philippine supermarket, talked to their Purchasing officer, presented our products, then after presenting, he said he has to refer me to their wholesale division, which is in another office.
When I arrived on the said office, I was surprised that most of the employees there are Filipinos, I talked to Mr. Joel Buena, the Sales & Marketing Manager of Abu Nader Group of Companies, they’re company is composed of 5 different division and Mr. Buena is handling the retail division.
They already have several Filipino products such as Century Tuna, Skyflakes, Zesto, Nissin, Rebisco, Ysa cosmetic products, San Miguel products as well and many other even Patis
He was impressed on the design and packaging of our products, but he told me we have to get clearance first from the Dubai Municipality so that there will be no problems when it comes to distribution.
What’s great about Mr. Buena is that when I told him about our company and our mother company which is Lloyd laboratories, he was surprised coz he use to deal with Lloyd labs when he was still working in Manila, it’s really a small world he said.
For me this is a great start, they are expanding their network and branches and he said they are planning to open 1 branch every 3 months all over UAE, to cater also for Filipinos staying in UAE.
